Drawing to Make Sense
This week of drawing was aptly titled "Drawing to Make Sense". Through drawing, we explored the events which took place during and after the Apartheid regime in South Africa. We engaged in conversations about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and studied the stories of deceased individuals- which arose when perpetrators exchanged the truth of their cruel actions for amnesty. I studied the tragic story of Nokuthula Simelane and how her family pieced together the truth of her disappearance.
